⟨⟨Daily Topic⟩⟩ Why Hosting PMSL As Closed Event Make Sense

The PUBG Mobile Super League is indefinitely a way to bring up PUBG Mobile Esports as a franchise league starting in SEA.

But despite that, it is a bit underwhelming compared to other games that had started to make the tournament an open offline event where fans can buy tickets to watch the games and the different eSports teams can rent out booth to sell merchandise (especially MLBB)

But what if I tell you that, for this particular season, hosting PMSL as a closed offline event make sense? Let's get started.

Well first of all, the tournament is actually held at PWTC (don't ask why I know) in Malaysia. And guess what's happening tomorrow as well? It's the Ramadhan season. Majority of the players in this PMSL are actually Muslims, not to mention Malaysia is also a Muslim country,so tickets probably won't sell as much as expected resulting in money loss.

Next is budget, as you all know, Tencent isn't exactly giving that much of a prizepool even for this tournament because they're starting to balance out the prizepool to the other tournaments (definitely not because they're cheap). As the prizepool lower, the budget restrains for hosting tournament is indefinitely higher as well.

There's a lot of other factors that can be brought into this conversation, but I think in the end, it's the event manager know the true reason.

What's are your thoughts about this tournament being closed event? Does it upset you? Or do you actually agree it being a closed event? Tell me more on the comment below!
