With all the PMPLs in Southeast Asia starting today, I will be taking this small initiative to introduce the newest PMPL addition; that is the PMPL SEA Wildcard!
SEA Wildcard is a region that combines together multiple countries in Southeast Asia that does not have a PMPL; other than the big 4 (MY/ID/TH/VN). However, not all SEA countries are present for this year as only 4 countries will be joining which are Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar & Singapore as announced previously.
PMPL SEA Wildcard will also feature a slightly different format compared to the big 4; in which they will still have a League & Finals stage. For the League stage, the format is entirely the same with the big 4 countries; with the exception of having Bonus Points (BP). The Top 16 after 2 weeks based on BPs will advance to the Finals.
The total prizepool for PMPL SEA WC Spring is $40,000. It is less by half than MY & ID and roughly less by 25% from TH & VN. Despite the relatively low prizepool, the players from these countries are excited to have their own dedicated league to play in the battlegrounds.
