ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, has astounded the globe with its tremendous information integration and conversation skills, as well as its natural language processing powers. It was recently announced that ChatGPT successfully passed the tests for legal and business courses at prominent American colleges, which blew students' minds!

A student at Australia's The University of New South Wales (UNSW) was recently convicted of academic fraud and failed because he wrote his essay using the artificial intelligence ChatGPT!

Toby Walsh, a professor in The University of New South Wales' Department of Computing, revealed that a student was discovered to have used ChatGPT to write a paper and was handled as a cheater; eventually, the student admitted to using ChatGPT to produce the paper and failed. "Especially for persons who do not speak English as a first language, if their writing suddenly improves drastically, teachers will question them about it," he stated.

The lecturer stated that students should be aware that AI, such as ChatGPT's, focuses on quantity rather than quality because the AI pulls stuff from Wikipedia, Reddit, and social media, but the fact is that they don't grasp it.

While the Australian education industry begins to investigate methods to prevent pupils from cheating with ChatGPT. According to Toby Walsh, a professor in The University of New South Wales' Department of Computing, such measures to ban student access are ineffective because students can use VPNs to bypass firewalls, and the only way to completely prevent students from using ChatGPT is to confine them to a room with no Internet access and only provide them with pen and paper.

I personally use it for brainstorming while working on tasks, and it is a huge help. Do you think it's a good idea to prevent students from using ChatGPT?
