It’s not all glitz and glamor being an esports player on a world-class Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team, representing your home country on the international stage with millions of fans tuning in.

ECHO’s Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya found that the hard way when he became an esports player three seasons ago.

Despite fulfilling his long-time dream of playing Mobile Legends: Bang Bang competitively, the 16-year-old said that challenges in and out of the game made him realize the great difficulties that come with playing at such a high level.

In an exclusive interview with ONE Esports, the 16-year-old said that he confronts his toughest challenge on a daily basis.

“I am away with my family most of th time,” he said. “I believe that’s the toughest [challenge] for me.”

Ever since ECHO recruited him in Season 10, he has been away from home, practicing with the team in boot camp. The sacrifice was worth it, for ECHO secured one of two slots at the M4 World Championship after a dominant Season 10 performance.

However, his homesickness only grew after they flew to Indonesia for the biggest MLBB tournament. It is also his first time competing outside the Philippines.

He is, however, thankful for his teammates, who has his back in these tough moments. “I consider everyone on the team as my mentor,” Sanford said. “Because they really help me a lot.”

Here’s everything you need to know about the M4 World Championship, including the schedule and results of the knockout stage. Follow ONE Esports on Facebook for more Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and M4 news, guides, and updates.
