The Malaysia Esports League (MEL) 2022 for Free Fire category has come to a close last weekend (Oct 15th-16th).

The entire event were separated into two (2) stages; State Qualifiers & National Championship. Each state/federal territory had their own qualifiers which sent the best team to represent their state. 16 teams advanced into the National Championship.

The National Championship had two (2) sub-stages; Semi-Finals on Day 1 and Grand Finals on Day 2. On Day 1, 16 teams were split into two (2) groups of 8 where every group played 5 matches and the Top 4 advancing into Day 2. in which the final 8 teams play 8 matches throughout the day to determine the champion. The event featured a total prizepool of RM65,000 and held offline at ESI Hub, Spacerubix in Puchong.

Team KenotBrain, representing WP Kuala Lumpur emerged as the grand champion consisting of Ajimm, R4ii, Jemann, Samurai and SphinxLG as its roster with a total of 154 points, 2 points ahead of TokDalang (Johor) in 2nd place and 11 points ahead of Tactical Intex (WP Putrajaya) in 3rd. A few pro-level players also participated in this event such as XZACK (Todak) of team Tactical Intex and TheAxel (Expand) of team Fastkill Nov4.
