ONIC Esports, an Indonesian Mobile Legends powerhouse, emerged as the champions of the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2023. They defeated Blacklist International from the Philippines in the best-of-seven grand finals with a score of 4-2. With this victory, ONIC Esports ended the Philippines' two-year domination of the MSC and secured their second MSC championship.



The team's impressive performance throughout the tournament showcased their strength and skill. As the champions, ONIC Esports will receive the majority share of the prize pool, amounting to US$140,000, while Blacklist International will take home US$60,000.

ONIC Esports, known for their success in the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) ID Season 11, entered the MSC 2023 as favorites. They demonstrated their dominance from the beginning, finishing the Group Stage with a perfect 4-0 record and securing the top seed in their group.

In the Knockout Stage, ONIC Esports continued their winning streak with a resounding 3-0 victory over ECHO, the reigning world champions, in the semifinals. Blacklist International also showcased their strength by topping their group and defeating Burn x FLASH from Cambodia in the semifinals.

The grand finals saw ONIC Esports taking an early lead by winning the first two games. Despite a strong comeback attempt from Blacklist International, ONIC remained composed and secured a 3-1 series lead. They ultimately sealed their victory with a dominant performance in game six.

Nicky "Kiboy" Fernando, the 20-year-old roamer for ONIC Esports, was awarded the Finals MVP title and a bonus of US$3,000. With their MSC 2023 victory, ONIC Esports now set their sights on the upcoming M5 World Championship, which will be hosted in the Philippines. There, they will have another opportunity to challenge the Philippines' dominance in the Mobile Legends esports scene.
