Alexey “Solo” Berezin will be a free agent for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit season.

After losing their captain, NAVI Dota 2 will still be undertaking “further roster changes,” according to an announcement from the Ukrainian organization.

NAVI recently contested The International 11 Last Chance Qualifiers after failing to qualify for the event directly through DPC points or the Regional Qualifiers. The squad topped Group A during the LCQ, but fell to T1 and Xtreme Gaming in the playoffs and were eliminated from the tournament.

NAVI was also eliminated from the Arlington Major in the group stage, marking the end of a disappointing season for the legendary organization.

Despite the organization’s history, NAVI has continued to languish without results in recent years. Frequent player changes and the signing of other rosters have not borne fruit, with other Eastern European organizations like Virtus Pro, BetBoom Team, and Team Spirit seeing more success.

This is the fourth time NAVI won’t be attending The International. All four times have come within the last five years. Their last appearance was at TI in 2019, where they finished joint-13th, led by Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev.

Following Solo’s departure and NAVI still looking to make more changes to their roster, the organization will hope to finally build a squad befitting of its heyday during the onset of competitive Dota 2.
